About the Event

Composer & lyricist, Luke Di Somma is about to geek out on CRAFT. Luke is a nut for craft and will take you behind his process, and really break down different elements of songwriting. The overarching goal of the session will be to help you find CLARITY in your writing.

Luke will talk about how different structures can help you tell different types of story, and discuss the importance of the hook in those structures. He’ll also talk about the nitty-gritty of lyric writing - where a character starts and stops, and how to make a lyric feel more discovered. He’ll also touch on musical elements - how melody and accompaniment can work together (or against each other) to tell the story you want to tell musically.

Luke is a brilliant teacher with an immense capacity and willingness to impart his knowledge of the craft in a way that is inspiring and instantly applicable. This session is practical, fun and suitable for writers of all levels.

“This was a great starting point for structuring songs. Luke was fantastic and I'd definitely consider booking other workshops he takes” - Participant from last year’s song structure workshop

In-person workshop, spaces are limited so book now! $60, 7-9:30pm, St Martins Arts Centre, St Martins Lane, South Yarra, 3141
