About the Event
Writing and performing your own show is a great way to get you and your work onto a stage. Starting the process can be daunting and the practicalities of producing your own work can be overwhelming.
Gillian is a multi-Green Room award-winning comedian, singer, songwriter, actor, pianist and procrastinator who has been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt to prove it. She will take you through how she has built a career across multiple disciplines and roles, and provide a practical guide to presenting work at fringe and arts festivals around the world.
Gillian has a true passion for cabaret and what it can be. She will share her building blocks; how to find your storytelling voice through improvisation, how to generate ideas, and balancing existing songs with new material.
Participants will have the opportunity to workshop ideas and discuss future development with Gillian on the day.
The session is practical, fun and suitable for performers and writers of all levels; if cabaret is your jam and you want to know how to write one, this workshop is for you.
